Frequently asked questions
Does the AI calculate the nutrition values?
No. The AI reads documents, understands your request and explains results. Nutrition, compliance and cost figures are computed by a deterministic engine, so the same formula always gives the same result.
Which products can I design?
Infant formula and follow-on formula (FSANZ 2.9.1), young child formula and formulated supplementary foods (2.9.3), and food for special medical purposes (2.9.5).
Where is my data stored?
In Australia — database, files and AI processing run in AWS Sydney. On the Enterprise plan you can switch to PRIVATE mode so only your company can see your formulas and files.
Can I compare with a competitor product?
Yes. Upload the competitor label or specification; FormulaLab reads the nutrition panel and shows it next to your formula with the same compliance bars.
Does it replace my regulatory specialist?
No. It does the calculations and drafting so your specialist can focus on review and sign-off.
